MARY PEARSON

===============
===============
Signed an exclusive long-term contract with
ARKADIA RECORDS, making her the first vocalist signed to the label.

An exciting and well respected label started in 1997 by Bob Karcy,
Arkadia Jazz has released CDs by
Dr. Billy Taylor, Benny Golson, David Liebman,
Nova Bossa Nova, Pe De Boi, Moscow Sax Quintet, Kenny Drew, Jr.,
Joanne Brackeen, David Lahm, and Talib Kibwe (aka T.K.Blue).

Recently, Arkadia acquired the Postcards label
virtually doubling its catalog by adding recordings of
Gary Peacock and Bill Frisell, Reggie Workman, Alan Pasqua,
Harold Land, Sam Rivers, Paul Bley and many other fine musicians.

If that weren't exciting enough, Arkadia's associate label,
Arkadia Chansons' catalog includes recordings of
JOSEPHINE BAKER, MAURICE CHEVALIER, CHARLES TRENET,
MARLENE DIETRICH, and EDITH PIAF.

About ARKADIA RECORDS/ARKADIA JAZZ:

"One of the hippest and most uncompromising labels on today's scene."
- Bob Young, BOSTON HERALD
"Someone's doing something right at Arkadia Jazz."
- BILLBOARD
"Perhaps the best thing about Karcy's efforts is his taste in musicians."
- Bob Karlovits, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE REVIEW

About MARY PEARSON
"...a sound and style all her own." IRA GITLER
"Wonderful vocalist." RHONDA HAMILTON/WBGO
"What a gorgeous voice...her name should become a household word!"
JAZZTIMES critic NANCY ANN LEE
"Mary Pearson's ... a genuinely gifted vocalist ..."
CRAIG TURNER/WPNE/Green Bay, Wisconsin
"Ms. Pearson gets to me not only with her humorous energy and
stunningly musical vocal talent,
but also with her "on the edge" eccentricity ...
hey, Mary -- STAY contrary!"
MARK MURPHY/legendary jazz vocalist
"...lovely voice...uniquely lyrical jazz singer."

NEWS FROM PETER DIZOZZA

===================
===================
Fortified Records has signed gifted Antifolk songwriter Major Matt Mason USA.
Look for Major's debut "Me, Me,Me" in stores nationally on Nov. 9th. The CD is
already available at Major Matt's live gigs. Here's a review just in:

"If Jonathan Richman, Michael Stipe, and Billy Bragg became one super human
being, that creation would sound like Matt Mason. I took quite a liking to
this album. It represents serenity in the rat race of the music world with
all those homogenous bands out there."- Cindy Wong Pop Culture Detox Vol.2
Issue 6

Cyber TV is catching up with Antifolk. Check out www.onlinetv.com
and www.antifolk.com for two of the best.

Lach gets more ink for Blang! :
"What sound is made when an Antifolk hero hits a chord? Blang! My fave is the
classic punk pop of "Ungrateful"- Matt Machhaffie-Yeah!Yeah!Yeah! Magazine

"Low-maintenance acoustic music rules, irreverent and ingenious describes
Antifolk guru Lach"
-TimeOut NewYork (Special Fall 1999 Guide)
Blang! is now available at Tower, Virgin, HMV and online at cdnow.com,
amazon.com, borders.com

Congrats to Joshua Leonard who did the photographs for the Lach's
Antihoot CD (Fortified). Yup, he's the star of The Blair Witch Project
and on the cover of Newsweek Mag a few weeks back. Way to go Josh!
